Arctic Monkeys On Tour in The US

The Arctic Monkeys may be the local heroes of Sheffield, United Kingdom in Northern England, but, evidently, that doesn’t mean that they don’t have fans across the pond too. This is evidenced by their massive, 28-date North American tour which has been going on full-throttle since August 25th.

Alex Turner and the boys’ latest gig was in Portland, Oregon this Sunday, September 24; and they are already on their way to San Francisco, California to rock the Chase Center as well.

Simply Red Braces For 40th Anniversary Celebrations

Meanwhile, another British band, the soul-pop group Simply Red is also getting ready to go on a massive tour. However, they have a very special occasion to commemorate by doing so: it’s the 40th anniversary of their foundation!

That’s right, they were formed in 1985 in Manchester, UK. Over the course of their 4-decade career, they have put out 13 studio albums, 4 of which have managed to top the charts in their home country (their debut record, “Picture Book”, even ranked #16 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US as well). Simply Red’s 40th anniversary tour will be taking place between September and October 2025, in cities like Belfast, Dublin, Leeds, and Manchester.

Frontman Tobias Forge told Yahoo Entertinmeant: “We obviously are a polarizing band. (...) [But] dark music, everything from gothic to death metal and black metal and hardcore can, on the contrary, be a source of celebration and even salvation. (...) At least with most gothic or hard rock music, it’s about feeling good about yourself.”

Hakan Altun Drops By At Soccer Team Sakaryaspor

Hakan Altun

Turkish folk singer Hakan Altun is a big fan of the football team Sakaryaspor, currently playing in the second division of the Turkish domestic league. To show his support, he recently dropped by at the team’s training center where he was given a special jersey with his name on it by the club president.

And this theatrics isn’t just for show for Altun: back in 2018, he ended up canceling a show in Kocaeli after he refused to wear the local team’s scarf, out of loyalty to Sakaryaspor, which angered the crowd…

“Parafulmini” By Ernia, Bresh, and Fabri Fibra Still Most Played Song on Italian Radio

Italian rapper Ernia, along with fellow rappers Bresh and Fabri Fibra, put out their hit single “Parafulmini” (meaning “Lightning Rods” in English), back in May. How big of a hit it was is demonstrated by the fact that still, four months later, it receives the most playtime on Italian radio stations of any song.
