New Ariana Grande Album Reportedly in the Works

American pop star Ariana Grande is reportedly in the studio, working on her 7th full-length studio album. It was The New York Post’s famous tabloid column Page Six that broke the news, citing an unnamed insider source.

It was also revealed that she is working with Swedish producer Max Martin, who has such hit single credits under his belt as Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time” from 1998, or Katy Perry’s first hit “I Kissed a Girl”.

He has also worked with Grande quite a lot already. He has produced her first major hit as well, “Problem” (2014), and worked on the former Victorious star’s other singles, such as “Dangerous Woman” (2016), and “Side to Side” (also 2016) featuring Nicki Minaj. Martin produced another song featuring both Grande and Minaj as well, Jessie J’s Bang Bang (2014), a track on which both artists were featured.

The last time a new Ariana Grande album was released was back in October 2020, when the suggestively titled “Positions” came out. It was an undeniable winner for Grande, topping the charts both in the US and the UK as well, and sold over 1 million copies in the United States alone. Max Martin is not credited on that one, with Tommy Brown taking the executive producer’s credit.

As for Grande’s latest single, that is a much more recent release. She was featured on a remix of the 2017 hit single “Die for You” by Canadian R&B artist The Weeknd - that came out earlier this year, in February.

Ariana herself was asked about her upcoming record in the wake of the supposed leak. She simply replied “let me make it first”, according to Music-News.com. Also, it seems more than the mere news of the record has hit the internet: rumors of allegedly authentic early recordings of the new album have also leaked online. The 30-year-old Grande seemingly verified the material, saying “it is impossible to keep things” from her most avid fans.

The news about her upcoming album has come at a turbulent time in Ariana Grande’s personal life. She has just separated from her husband of 2 years, real estate agent Dalton Gomez. In the meantime, she got involved in a major cheating scandal.
