Award show season is on in the US these days. For music fans who are into these shows, the Grammy Awards is what they really look forward to. This year, it will take place on February 4th, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

As expected, it will feature live performances by a number of the biggest A-list music stars. Namely, British pop singer Dua Lipa, who also dipped her toes into the movie world last year. She had a supporting role in the summer blockbuster “Barbie”; and the spy action comedy movie “Argylle” starring her is about to come out just a few days before the Grammys. Lipa’s song “Dance the Night”, featured on the Barbie movie soundtrack. became an international hit, and is also nominated in the “Song of the Year” category - to sum it up, the British pop diva had a wonderful year in 2023.

Billie Eilish, the other headline performer of the night, also had a track of her own on the Barbie soundtrack - which too received a nomination. “What Was I Made For?” is up for both the "Record of the Year" and the "Song of the Year" award as well. It is actually the only single Eilish put out last year. Olivia Rodrigo is also set to do a live show at this year's Grammys.

“Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift, “Butterfly” by John Batiste, “A&W” by Lana Del Rey, “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, “Kill Bill” by SZA, and “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo are also in the running for song of the year. Meanwhile, in the “Album of the Year” category, "World Music Radio” by Jon Batiste, “The Record” by Boygenius, “Endless Summer Vacation” by Miley Cyrus, “Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd” by Lana Del Rey, “The Age of Pleasure” by Janelle Monáe, “Guts” by Olivia Rodrigo, “Midnights” by Taylor Swift, and “SOS” by SZA are nominated. As far as sales go, Swift blows the competition out the water. “Midnights” sold over 3.5 million copies - although it did come out in October 2022, not 2023.
