Top10 Worldwide Music Selection from Concerty - December 2023

2023 has ended, thus our Concerty Worldwide column has too concluded its second "season" as well. Let's take a collective - and hopefully, enjoyable - look at what songs were popular around the Globe at the end of the old year. Cheers!

Zach Bryan - I Remember Everything feat. Kacey Musgraves (CANADA)

We actually had Canada on our last Concerty Worldwide list as well. However, given that this was the holiday season, we thought it’s appropriate to feature "the Great White North" once again. However, it seems the Canucks themselves weren’t in such a winter mood after all, as an American country star, Zach Bryan, was among the top artists in the country last month. Instead, if we base it solely on this track, it seems they were in quite a somber mood, actually. This one’s a soft, sad country ballad, sung in Bryan’s sultry voice - with help from fellow American country singer Kacey Musgraves.

Luciano - WONDERFUL LIFE feat. Hurts, 6PMRECORS (GERMANY)

Keeping with a quasi-Christmas theme, rapper Luciano out of Berlin, Germany has just put out a new track which was very well received by the local hip hop fans. However, sorry to disappoint any people still in the holiday spirit, but this track has nothing to do with Christmas other than the title’s similarity to the 1946 classic Christmas movie ‘It’s a Wonderful Life”.

Here, "wonderful life" refers to the lifestyles the successful artists live - in other words, it’s just “standard” flexing we see in hip hop songs often, although done more gracefully than usual this time.

Sherine - كلام عينيه (EGYPT)

Meanwhile in Africa, in the country of Egypt more specifically, singer and actress Sherine (who is also known as a jury on the local version of "The Voice") was among the winners there last month. Her track “كلام عينيه “ (meaning “The Words of His Eyes" in English) has still been charting high for weeks, despite originally coming out in 2018.

Gilli - 555 feat. Keshi (DENMARK)

Going back to cold winters of the North where we started, let’s take a look at the Danish music scene. There, just like in Germany, hip hop was in season, with rapper Gilli hitting it big with his song “555”. Three 5’s are sometimes called “Angel numbers” in the region, and they tend to be viewed as a sign of good fortune, hence the song’s title. It certainly brought some good fortune to Gilli and featured artist Keshi, who ended up with a hit on their hand.

Jimin - Like Crazy (SOUTH KOREA)

Last month, we had a song from Jung Kook featured in our Concerty Worldwide column. This time, we have another BTS boy come out with a solo banger - it is none other than Jimin, who just dropped “Like Crazy”, which has been hot among South Korean Spotify users. It’s a synth pop track, and quite a dreamy, ethereal one at that. It’s linked for you below, hope you enjoy it.

Noah Kahan - Stick Season (IRELAND)

Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season”, which is also the title of his album, came out over a year ago, in November 2022. However, the American folk singer just re-released an extended edition of the record with 7 more tracks added. This has certainly pleased his Irish fans, as the titular track has remained popular among them in the past few weeks.

Teddy Swims - Lose Control (BELGIUM)

Meanwhile, another American artist has also been popular in another European country - not an unusual thing to happen at all in the music industry, evidently. Teddy Swims, an R&B artist out of Conyers, Georgia, is a fresh face on the international music scene, first making it into the Billboard Hot 100 with this track of his “Lose Control”. People have noticed the new star in Belgium too, where he’s been charting high lately.

Omer Adam - ואיך שלא (ISRAEL)

So far, the only artist out of Israel who’s ever made it to our list is Noa Kirel, who did so twice with two different songs. Now, we have another entry from the Jewish state (going through dire times right now), a talented young man named Omer Adam, with his new cut released just a few weeks ago, titled "ואיך שלא”.

Figo - Erotyczne Pif-Paf (POLAND)

Let’s get a little goofy here, with some comedy music (not often do we see those in here, although it’s not the first time), brought to you by the comedy stylings of the Polish band Figo. For the vast majority of our users who do not speak Polish, they may still appreciate the visual humor in the video - as well as the decent beat on the track.

Bolaget - Låt Mig Va (SWEDEN)

Given the winter theme, we started up in the cold North of Canada, so let's finish up in the cold north of Sweden. We have the local pop group Bolaget for you from there, with their upbeat, brief little track "Låt Mig Va" fresh off of the presses, featuring Victor Leksell.
