Born and raised in Gladwin, USA, NF, also known as Nathan John Feuerstein, is a rapper and record producer born in 1991. He released two EPs, "I'm Free" in 2012 and a self-titled EP in 2014 with Capitol CMG. His major-label debut album, "Mansion," came out one year later, in 2015. His third album, "Therapy Session," released in 2016, peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard 200 and won a Dove Award for rap and hip-hop Album of the Year.
NF has two sisters and, after his parents' divorce, lived with his mother until his father gained custody due to abuse. His mother died from an opioid overdose in 2009, inspiring his song "How Could You Leave Us." NF graduated from Gladwin High School in 2009 and started his music career at the Fine Arts Festival in Canton, Michigan.
During his childhood, NF used rap as an escape, recording songs on a karaoke machine. He independently released his debut album, "Moments," in 2010, under his real name. His debut single, "Alone," featuring Tommee Profitt and Brooke Griffith, was released in 2011, and one year later, in 2012, he released the EP "I'm Free."
NF's song "Destiny" was featured in the video game MLB The Show 18. In 2018, he released the non-album single "No Name" on January 19, followed by "Why," the first single from his fourth studio album.
