MC Livinho - Novidade na Área feat. DJ Matt D (BRAZIL)

Let’s kick our list off in South America, in Brazil. There, R&B/soul singer MC Livinho teamed up with Brazilian hip hop artist DJ Matt D to put out a brand new hit titled ‘Novidade na Área’. Livinho is certainly bringing a soulful performance to the vocals, while Matt is not falling short with the prominent, pumping beat on the track.

What is not very surprising given his country of origin, but still interesting to note, is that MC Livinho is an avid soccer player who was considered a considerable talent in his youth. He is currently still active, playing for the Osasco-based club Audax in the 2nd division of the Paulista championship.

Gunna - fukumean (CANADA)

Meanwhile, American rapper Gunna dropped a short new track with the title “fukumean”. This is off of his fresh new record “A Grift & a Curse”, and has been popular among Spotify users in many English-speaking countries, including Canada.

While some of the songs on his new record are self-reflective and personal with some depth to the lyrics, this is not one of them. This cut is all about Gunna’s hedonistic impulses about women and money. As far as the flow goes, it’s a smooth, laid-back performance on the vocals, with the occasional changes of space to stir up the cut a bit.

Anggi Marito - Tak Segampang Itu (INDONESIA)

Anggi Marito is a new (and pretty) face in Indonesian pop music. The 21-year-old singer started regularly putting out music in 2020, and had her first viral hit in 2021 with “Cara Mencintaimu”. This one’s another success for her - “Tak Segampang Itu” came out last December, but has still remained popular among Indonesian Spotify users for many months now.

Tiësto - Lay Low (NETHERLANDS)

One of the biggest legends of European electronic music, Dutch DJ Tiësto is still going strong, putting out hot new tracks time and time again. He’s been on the scene since the golden age of European dance pop, the 1990’s, but hit it really big in the early 2000’s. His latest hit, “Lay Low’, is off of the 7th studio album in his discography titled “Drive”, and has been popular in his home country of the Netherlands all last month.

NewJeans - Super Shy (SOUTH KOREA)

The fresh, hot K-pop girl band NewJeans has really seen a rocket launch of a career start. We’ve first included in our Top10 Worldwide Music Collection back in December of last year, and they have not slowed down since. In fact, a whopping 6 out of the 10 most streamed songs (!) on Spotify in South Korea in July were from them. That is quite an astonishing achievement from Haerin and the girls!

Omah Lay - reason (NIGERIA)

Omah Lay, a young R&B singer out of Nigeria, is another artist new in the music industry - although compared to NewJeans, he’s not much of a rookie, as he first blew up in 2020 with his self-produced viral song "Bad Influence", and has even put out his debut studio album already, through the major American label Sire Records.

It’s good to see that he has not fallen off, and is still able to put out hit songs, such as his recently released single “reason”. You can take a listen and watch the music video below.

Myke Towers - LALA (PANAMA)

In the least shocking news a music site could ever bring you, Latin urbano and reggaeton continues to be popular in Latin America. Puerto Rican singer and rapper Myke Towers is one of the most recent beneficiaries of that fact, who had his new song “LALA” blown up on Spotify among users from many Central and South American countries, including Panama.

Charlie Puth - Left and Right feat. Junglook & BTS (VIETNAM)

This is a track back from last summer, released in June 2022, which was still a popular listen in the Asian country of Vietnam last month. Jungkook has been known to be a big fan of Puth, perhaps best known for his feature on the Wiz Khalifa track “See You Again” from the "Fast and Furious" soundtrack. Jungkook’s coveted collab finally came to fruition in 2022.

What they have come out with is a short, fun, upbeat pop tune; which, as per the lyrics, is actually about lamenting the loss of an old lover, creating a bit of a feeling of a disconnect there.

Dani Mocanu - Cariceps feat. Alex Velea (ROMANIA)

Over in Romania, in the meantime, singer-rapper Dani Mocanu was among the winners in July. Mocanu is known to put out songs in the local folk genre known as “manele”, a true rarity on the global music stage. His latest hit, however, is a regular old pop track, with perhaps a tad bit more flute than usual for a Western ear, and a goofy music video.

DJ MøMø - Badebussen feat. Kjartan Lauritzen (NORWAY)

Let’s end our list with a fast electro-dance track from up North, Norway. DJ MøMø is here to blow you away with "Badebussen", with a beat reminiscent of the early 2010's "club bangers". The vocals are provided by rapper Kjartan Lauritzen.
