Dancing Rabbit Music Festival 2023

Dancing Rabbit Music Festival, AKA Dancing Rabbit, or simply DRMF, is a free music festival held in McAlester, United States. The festival features diverse music genres such as folk, country, bluegrass, and Americana. Since its inception in the summer of 2021, the festival has become a cherished tradition in the heart of downtown McAlester, and it shows no signs of slowing down. What began as a single summer event has now expanded into two vibrant seasons – a summer series spanning three Saturdays and a fall finale on a crisp November day.

Each festival Saturday unfolds on an open-air stage, creating a dynamic atmosphere that ensures no two Saturdays are ever the same. DRMF takes pride in offering a diverse lineup of talented artists such as Esther Rose, Blacktop Mojo, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, making each visit a unique and memorable experience. The Dancing Rabbit Music Festival derives its moniker from the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek, a historic document that first established the Choctaw Reservation in Oklahoma. The festival proudly celebrates this heritage, paying homage to the Choctaw Nation's roots while distancing itself from the painful history of forced removal.
