Trendy Artists of the Week: Ultimo, Muse, Adele, Bebe Rexha, Claire Chase, Ligabue

Our familiar old weekly column is back yet again, with some more interesting stories from the world of music. We hope you enjoy catching up what your favorite artists have been up to lately.

Ultimo Drops Hot New Single “PAURA MAI”

One of the biggest stars in Italian music to come up in recent years, Ultimo, just released a brand new single titled “PAURA MAI”. The 27-year-old pop star rose to prominence in February 2018, when he won the Newcomers category at the Sanremo Music Festival.

By now, he is on his 5th studio album. This single of his, “PAURO MAI”, is on none of those, however. t’s a hot, fresh new release. You can take a listen below.

Muse Goes to Kuala Lumpur for Live Show

Meanwhile, the British rock band Muse traveled over 6,500 miles to perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was worth the journey, as over 50,000 eager music fans turned up at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium - some of them did quite a bit of traveling themselves, coming from places like Thailand or Australia to see the band play live.

The event had some tensions around it, as another British band, The 1975, had their frontman Matty Healy publicly criticize the country’s restrictive laws regarding homosexuality, which led to the cancellation of the entire festival they were supposed to play at, Good Vibes Fest 2023. Thankfully, Muse’s live show went ahead without any controversy.

Adele Speaks Out Against Throwing Things on Stage at Concerts, Referring to Bebe Rexha Incident

Adele

While doing a concert at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, British pop star Adele, quite bluntly, reminded her audience about how to behave at a live music show. She reportedly said:

“Have you noticed how people are like, forgetting f*cking show etiquette at the moment? People just throwing sh*t on stage, have you seen them? I f*cking dare you. Dare you to throw something at me and I’ll f*cking kill you.”

While this is certainly put in a rather crude way, the “Someone Like You” star’s frustration is understandable. It can certainly be dangerous to have objects of various sizes hurled at you from a distance. Recently, Bebe Rexha was hit in the head by a cell phone thrown at one of her concerts in New York City, New York, which even put her in the hospital for a short while.

Flutist Claire Chase Profiled By The New York Times

It is rare to see an artist who is primarily known as a flutist make it to our popular artists list. This week, however, there has been a growing interest in Claire Chase. It perhaps has to do with the puff piece written on her by the prestigious paper The New York Times, which was published back in May.

Ligabue Raises the Roof at Packed San Siro

We have started this week’s Trendy Artists column with a popular Italian artist, let’s finish it with one as well. Rock star Luciano Ligabue - who also doubles as a filmmaker, by the way - shook the famed San Siro Stadium in Milan with his performance on July 5th. And less than two weeks later, he did another show at another impressive venue, the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on the 14th.
